POSTION TITLE: Annuity & Creditor Services Representative

REPORTS TO: Manager, Annuity & Creditor Services
GRADE: 05
Summary:
Performs a variety of duties associated with the Annuity & Creditor Services Department including but not limited to: responding to verbal and written requests from policy owners and agents; providing education and instruction to policy owners and agents; processing requests received and advising appropriate persons of task completion or update on status.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Comprehends the annuity and credit insurance businesses and how they relate to organizational procedures, system functionality, and agency relationships.
b) Communicates effectively with departments and employees of different disciplines to reach mutually agreeable goals.
c) Communicates effectively with contract owners and representatives of our agency distribution channels providing status updates on a regular basis.
d) In accordance with the contract owner request and Vantislife's procedures, verifies contract owner request forms are complete and proper signatures are obtained and validated.
e) Processes contract owner requests within stated standard time. Report deviations from standard to manager. Requests include but are not limited to additional deposits, 1035 Exchanges/IRA transfers, annuity payouts, surrenders, death claims, loans, and miscellaneous service requests (e.g. beneficiary changes). Prepares and sends all related correspondence.
f) Complies with company procedures for proper handling of all documents and files.
g) Maintains tracking system for requests received and output generated.
h) Follows through on requests and service to completion while maximizing customer satisfaction. Improve overall customer satisfaction through friendly greetings and knowledgeable service.
i) Performs duties related to the mortgage and credit lines of business.
j) Assumes additional duties as requested.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
1-5 years customer service experience or equivalent education. Annuity and/or life insurance experience a plus.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and strong aptitude for identifying and setting priorities. Ability to efficiently handle changing demands and high volume. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to obtain and maintain Connecticut Insurance Producers License. Must successfully pass the CT Producers License exam within 6 months of hire.

Must be able to work in the Annuity and Creditor Service Department in the home office location.
Must have the ability to work overtime as needed to meet departmental needs.
The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel.
The employee occasionally will be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
