POSITION TITLE: COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
DEPARTMENT: CLAIMS AND COMPLIANCE
REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT, CLAIMS AND COMPLIANCE
GRADE: 10
FUNCTION:
Assumes responsibilities for coordinating regulatory market conduct compliance, provides related support to life insurance and annuity operations based on regulatory guidelines. Oversees and assists with policy form filing to state insurance departments.
DUTIES:
Manages all aspects of legal and regulatory activity including research and regulatory reporting. Recommends new policies and procedures based on regulatory developments including maintaining internal compliance material and records such as manuals, procedures and state report tracking.
Develops and coordinates company practices regarding compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations as they relate to a wide range of areas including but not limited to Market Conduct matters, Anti-Money Laundering, IMSA practices, etc.
Performs audits and monitors activity within the company to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory market conduct standards.
Assumes additional duties as required.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma
Required annual participation in LOMA educational courses
EXPERIENCE:
3 to 5 years of Compliance experience in an insurance environment
1 or more years experience filing life and annuity products
Knowledge of West Law and SERFF
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must be analytical and very detailed oriented
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products or similar software
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with State Insurance Departments and internal personnel
Able to prioritize and multi-task and have the ability to collect and research complex and diverse information.
